Hito Holds grew up from the passion for climbing.
Patxi Basarte has always been attracted by shapes and textures of climbing holds. Searching the best hold, he discovered a new side of climbing, design or "The art of climbing", a new world that he found so exciting.
During his professional career he had great fortune to meet Ferran Guerrero who taught him everything. Ferran has been a pioneer in the world of design for countless brands between 1998-2003, when he created his own brand of climbing holds, "Psyco art holds". For Hito and many other brands it has been and continues to be a benchmark.
Patxi worked tirelessly for years to improve his way of designing, which clearly reflected his passion for climbing. The work payed off, and national and international companies were interested in his designs. It was the support that was missing to take final step and set as a goal to create his own brand of climbing holds (HITO HOLDS).
In early 2010, the Hito Holds brand was founded by Patxi Basarte and Miren Zabaleta. Their origins are totally different and therefore they form a perfect mix of climbing knowledge, design, engineering, quality and business.
